Welcome to PISPThe Private Investigators and Security Professionals (PISP) of West
Virginia was founded in 1993. This association is the oldest continuing
organization of its kind in West Virginia. PISP was originally formed to
oppose legislation which would negatively impact the profession. While
this has continued to be an objective, the organization has since
evolved into one which also Legislative Updates new legislation, strives to improve
the level of professionalism and provide education and training
opportunities thereby enhancing the capabilities of the Private
Investigators and Security Professionals in our organization. PISP
specifically endeavors to address the needs of professionalism and
networking within our profession, providing unity, opportunity, and
training to investigators and security professionals across West
Virginia.
Mission Statement: Private Investigators and Security Professionals of
West Virginia strives to improve the level of professionalism and
integrity by sponsoring legislation, encouraging networking, cooperation
and mutual assistance among members, and providing continuous training
and education for our membership.
PISP welcomes membership inquiries from Private Investigators, Security
Professionals, and others who have an interest in following the
profession. We encourage Criminal Justice students to apply for
Associate memberships in order to take advantage of our in-service
training, networking opportunities and exposure to seasoned
investigators. We are a fraternal, not-for-profit organization offering
full memberships to licensed Private Investigators and Security
Professionals and associate memberships to non-licensed interested
parties. In addition to West Virginia, the Association also has members
in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland. PISP members are encouraged to
belong to several professional organizations. Many of our members also
belong to NAIS, ASIS, NABEA, and others. The membership is served by all
such organizations.
